RIFFS AND RUST

Riotgrrrl Darko is an independant rapper from Minneapolis. Back in 2019, she spotted some of my art on Instagram and messaged me, saying she was about to drop an album and needed a cover. Since then she has given me many amazing projects to work on from shirt designs, logo design and so on. This, though, is my favorite I have done for her. This is for her first full length album, RIFFS AND RUST.

My client described her ideal cover as her in a "Punk, Victorian style dress" and her producer as the grim reaper with a guitar/scythe in his arms" in order to test different compositions, I came up with these sketches. After some more discussion, she went with the second option.
